R&S^®MHPCAR MHP ObjectCarousel

The MHP ObjectCarousel R&S® MHPCAR is used to insert MHP content. It also allows MHP-based data to be added to TV programs without requiring the program multiplexers to be expanded. The R&S^®DIP010 DTV IP Inserter and Generator for DVB-H – complemented by the MHP ObjectCarousel – handles all functions in order to insert MHP services into digital TV in line with the standard. Signaling is expanded in such a manner that MHP-capable set-top boxes can recognize and receive this service.

The MHP ObjectCarousel functions as an MHP playout solution. DVB systems can thus very easily be expanded to MHP (without reconfiguring infrastructure). This MHP playout solution can be used worldwide for all DVB systems such as terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T), broadcasting via cable (DVB-C) and satellite (DVB-S).

Using the R&S^®DIP010 DTV IP Inserter and Generator for DVB-H allows the content to be inserted in active program streams (inserter) and generated exclusively with MHP content (generator). Thus, this solution can also be used for developing and testing MHP-capable set-top boxes without complex DVB transmitter systems.

The multimedia home platform (MHP) allows the use of interactive applications, games as well as appealing program information (electronic program guides).
